Expressive Art Counselling in Linden & Online
When Words Aren’t Enough: A Creative Path to Emotional Regulation
Sometimes, talking about life's challenges isn't enough to fully unpack what we are experiencing. Expressive Art Counselling bridges that gap. It is a powerful, creative, and supportive counselling approach that uses the process of making art to help you access, express, and process complex feelings safely.
You do not need to be "good at art" or have any artistic background. The focus is entirely on the process of creation, expression, and discovery—not the final product.

What to Expect in Our Creative Sessions
You can expect a warm, supportive partnership. Our sessions are collaborative and gentle. A typical session might involve a brief check-in, a guided creative prompt using art materials, and a supportive reflection process where we explore what your creation means to you. You are always in complete control of what you create and how much you choose to share.

My Creative & Person-Centred Approach
Every session is built on a foundation of empathy, collaboration, and unconditional respect. Within this safe container, I blend evidence-based counselling frameworks with creative techniques tailored to what comforts you most:
-
Creative Externalisation: Safely moving internal overwhelm outside of your body and onto a medium where it can be gently observed and understood.
-
Thought-Mapping Exercises: Merging creative thought-awareness exercises with visual mapping to identify and shift unhelpful daily patterns.
-
Strength-Based Creative Exploration: Utilising creative problem-solving to uncover your inherent resilience and practical future goals.
How Expressive Art Counselling Works
As a Registered Counsellor, I use creative externalisation as a supportive counselling process to help Adults and Children (aged 9 and older) externalise internal struggles. By putting your emotions onto paper, canvas, or clay, we make them tangible, approachable, and easier to navigate.

Processing Life Transitions
& Stress
Using creative mediums to visually organise and process thoughts when daily stress feels overwhelming. Utilising the tactile experience of art-making to ground the nervous system, practice mindfulness, and reclaim mental space.
Enhancing Personal Functioning:
Actively identifying emotional roadblocks and building sustainable, practical strategies to move forward.
Emotional regulation for Children and Teens
Providing younger clients with a safe, natural, and low-pressure outlet to communicate feelings they might not yet have the vocabulary to say out loud.
